Club Notes: June 27th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 3, 16, 17, 21, 29 and Brigid Kelly won £100. The main jackpot stays at £5,000 for next week’s draw takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday night.
It rained last Friday of that we can be certain. We can equally be certain that it did not dampen the enthusiasm of our Primary School players in the Donnelly Cup competition or of their teachers. It was a great success. Well done to everyone who helped make it so successful. A big thank you to those who got the grounds ready and to Barry McCaul, Sean O’Kane. Paddy McGrath and Barry O’Neill who kept the games running smoothly. The match officials – Sean Fox, Paddy Fox, Mark Bradley and Conall  McCann – were vital to the playing of so many games. Aged 17-19 they are still youth players but they are already making a big contribution at adult level both in terms of training and of playing and are good role models for our Primary School players. The teachers and pupils have made this competition the event of the year. As usual our kitchen staff provided the welcome cup of tea and refreshments. Special thanks must go to Barry McCaul for his efficient organisation of the day’s busy programme.
Sincere sympathy to the family circle of the late Mrs Montague, Dromore. The Montagues have a long association with the GAA and her late husband, Andy, was Treasurer of the County Board when Tyrone won a first All Ireland Minor Title. We also sympathise with the family circle of the late Barry Lowry. Barry was a fine Footballer and starred on successful Vocational Schools and County Minor Teams. He was also one of life’s gentlemen. His brother, Joe, and his sister in law, Joan, do great work for our Club.
We wish Sean Fox, Mark Bradley and the Tyrone Minors and Dermot Carlin and the Tyrone Seniors all the best in Saturday’s Ulster Minor and Senior Semi-Finals.
