Senior and Reserve football came to an end for us at the weekend. Although the results went against us we had a good weekend of football. On Saturday we had two highly entertaining and closely fought league games with Moortown and on Monday the Reserves were again in action in the Reserve Knock Out Competition with Coalisland. They played well and came agonisingly close to claiming a place in the quarter final.
Our younger Senior and Reserve players still have the Under 21 competition to look forward to.
We host the County Hurling Finals on Sunday and we would appreciate a good turn out of workers to ensure the smooth running of both games. Stewards should be available from 12.15pm but will be welcome anytime.
Our assistant secretary, Barry O’Connor, has been hospitalised and we send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
We lost one of the county’s, and indeed, one of the country’s great characters with the death of Joe Ward last week. Joe, through his musical talents, was well known, loved and respected quite literally from Donegal to Dingle. We extend sincere sympathy to his family circle.
Our sympathy also goes to the family circle of the last Mrs Annie O’Brien.
There will be a Club Meeting tomorrow night, Thursday 8th September at 8.00pm.
Cappagh
Our Minor hurlers take on An Charraig Mhór in the championship tomorrow night, Thursday.
Our Juvenile footballers played Eglish last night, Wednesday, in the league quarter final and will play Omagh in Saturday at 12.00pm in the Championship in Healy park.
On Friday, we will play Pomeroy and Eskra in the Under 13 league. Our Juvenile ladies will play An Charraig Mhór on Saturday at 11.00am and Pomeroy on Monday evening.

The U16’s put up a spirited team performance on Saturday past despite suffering defeat to Sperrin og, Their next two league games are against Carrickmore on Saturday 10th at 11am and then Pomeroy on Tuesday 13th at 7pm. Good Luck to all involved there. U16 training continues as normal.
