CLUB NOTES: September 14th
A big thank you to those who assisted with the smooth running of the Hurling Final last Sunday.
We wish Paula Clarke a speedy recovery from her painful Achilles injury and trust that she will be back dancing in time for Scor.
It’s party time in O’Neill’s with Owen Roe and Mary celebrating a special wedding anniversary and Conor celebrating his engagement.
The Howes are celebrating the birth of a baby daughter.
Our Under 10 boys who were in action recently at the Moy Tournament, these are the stars of the future!
Cappagh
It has been all go for our Juvenile footballers. On Wednesday last they staged a strong comeback to defeat Eglish in the quarter final of the league and on Saturday they pulled back a seven point deficit but fell in the final minutes to Omagh in the Championship. They play Ardboe this Saturday in the league semi final in Cookstown at 12.45pm.
Our Minor hurlers played well but lost to An Charraig Mhor in the Championship last Thursday.
On Friday last our Under 13 footballers beat Pomeroy and lost to Eskra. In our next games we are away to Dromore and at home to Tattyreagh. Fielding two teams helps us to give football to as many as possible and to get ready for next year’s Under 14 competitions. Training every Monday and Wednesday 6.00pm – 7.30pm.
On Saturday last our Under 10 footballers came through a group which included Errigal Ciaran, Burren and Lurgan’s Clann na nGael to qualify for the quarter final for the Moy tournament. They went out in extra time and can feel justifiably proud of their exploits. A special word of praise and thanks to all of our underage coaches and managers.
Cappagh Ladies
The U16 season ended over the weekend and the girls put in some great performances over the season and the management would like to take this opportunity to thank the players and their parents for their commitment over the season.
The future is looking bright for Cappagh Ladies as it looks like we will be able to field a Minor Team next year again.
As the season is now winding down, if anyone has any notes could they please forward them to the club PRO Mairead Horisk.
