CLUB NOTES: July 6th
Last Wednesday night we played Dromore and our Reserves got proceedings off to a good start with a promising display from a team made up of youth players and some experienced players. The Seniors established a commanding lead; suffered two severe body blows; went behind in the closing minutes and fought back to earn a draw. We play An Charraig Mhor tonight, Wednesday, the Reserve Throw In is 6.30, Senior Throw In is 8.15, come along show your support.
No monthly meeting in July but we will have a meeting tonight, Thursday, at 8.00pm to finalise arrangements for the Run/Walk for Michaela on Saturday at 11.00am and also for the Under 12 trip to Longford.
Pat McCrory has planned a route for both the 5 and 10K runs leaving from theClub Rooms. Patrick can be contacted on 079 7063 7947 and Brendan Harkin on 078 2527 1800. For those who want something more leisurely they can walk the 5K route or take a stroll around the GAA grounds in Ballinamullan in family groups or with groups of friends. The main idea is to give as many as possible the chance to participate and to give a donation to the Michaela Foundation Trust. So please come to Ballinamullan just before 11.00am and support a good cause this Saturday.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Mary McCarney who is at present hospitalised.
Cappagh
The Juvenile footballers made it 2 wins from 2 games with a good victory over An Charraig Mhor last week and have made a very promising start to the League. With Tyrone falling to Cavan last Sunday the Club Minor Championship quarter finals and league quarter finals can now go ahead.
We appeal to all youth players, Under 6 to Under 18 to take part in the Walk or Run for Michaela on Saturday at 11.00am in Ballinamullan. We also urge family members and friends to join with them in the 5 or 10 K runs or walks or on shorter walks or runs around the club grounds and make a donation to the Michaela Foundation Trust.
The Minor Hurling league starts tonight, playing Shamrocks in Starbane tonight at 7.30. Players asked to gather at the usual place for 6.30.
Tyrone U14 Hurling Dveleopment squads will be taking place this Friday at Ballinamullan from 7.15.
Cappagh Ladies
Senior Training will continue as usual in preparation for the League Semi-Final.  Training for U16s will continue on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7-8pm, details of any upcoming friendlies will be given out at training. Training for U8’s to U10s take place on Tuesdays from 6-7pm and U12 from 7-8pm.  Good Luck to Tyrone Senior Ladies who take on Monaghan in the Ulster Final on Sunday at 3.30pm in Clones.
Cappagh Gaels
Last Monday night the Gaels travelled to Strabane to play Na Shamrogaí. A strong defensive display and superb goalkeeping from Aiden O’Neill kept the game very much in contention however the Shamrocks were assisted by a strengthening breeze in the second half and ran out winners after a hard fought contest. It was very encouraging to see many of our younger players competing at senior level. The seniors are away to Dungannon tonight (Thursday) with throw in at 7.30pm – all players are to assemble at the village carpark for 6.00pm. Then tomorrow (Friday) our minors will travel to Strabane, with throw in also at 7.30pm – players should meet at village carpark for 6.15pm. Well done to the hurlers/cyclists who completed the journey from Galway to Omagh last weekend; we now anticipate that all the extra training will be put to good use on the field!
