Club Notes: May 7th

Winning numbers in the club lotto were 3, 7, 8, 10, 23 and two winners each won £50. The jackpot remains at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual on Monday evening. You can enter online on our website or via Klubfunder.

The club merchandise shop will be open tomorrow night, Thursday, as usual between 7:00 and 8:00pm. Price drop – a selection of items of various sizes are being reduced in the club merchandise shop.

The reserve and senior men’s leagues which were due to be played on Sunday have been postponed due to the All Ireland U20 semi-final. The reserves will instead host Galbally next Friday, 16th May.

Congratulations to our senior ladies who defeated Carrickmore in the Silver Preseason competition last Thursday night in a game of very high-quality football.

Our minor boys are back in action next Wednesday, 14th May, when the grade two team are away to Omagh and the development team host Eglish.

Our minor girls travel to Loughmacrory on Friday night and host Errigal Ciaran at Ballinamullan next Tuesday.

Our U15 boys won their section of the Féile na nÓg last Sunday at Carrickmore, after games against Carrickmore, the Rock and Fintona. They have now qualified for the County semi-finals.

Our U15 girls also took part in Féile na nÓg on Sunday morning in Carrickmore. A tough group with Edendork, Kildress and Dungannon saw the girls narrowly eliminated from the competition.

Our U14 boys concluded their league season last Wednesday and now concentrate on the championship.

Our U14 girls grade one team host St. Macartan’s tomorrow night, Thursday, in the league and development team host Carrickmore in the championship quarter-final on Sunday.

Congratulations to our new Ulster Champions, Sean Broderick and Shane McCaul, who were part of the Tyrone U20 panel who defeated Donegal in extra-time in the Ulster Final last Wednesday. Well done also to backroom members Damian Cox and Leo Green. They now play Kerry in the All Ireland semi-final this Sunday in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise. We wish them the best of luck.

Tyrone GAA have now released their annual Gaeltacht Grants for Summer 2025. Applications will close next Friday, 16th May at 5:00pm. Forms are available for download on our website.

The Couch to 5K six-week course began last Tuesday night at Youth Sport. The Killyclogher 5K and 10K will take place on Saturday 7th June. You can enter online here: www.killycloghergaa.com/10K2025.

The club are greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Pearse McCloskey (Knocksilla Park) and offer sincere condolences to the family circle, especially his wife Cathy and children who are active members of our club.

Sincere sympathy, also, to the family circle of the late Sean Bradley (Greencastle), and especially to the McKnight’s who have a long history of involvement in our club.
