The hectic schedule of games at all levels, ladies and men, continues and thanks to the help of parents and family members, young players are being transported around the county.
The big one this weekend is the men’s senior championship first round when we go to Healy Park to take on An Charraig Mhór. As we all know, it will not be the packed and noisy Healy Park we are all used to. Both clubs will be reduced to the bare minimum of support. This is in accordance with the legislation regarding size of attendance at public events. The only glimmer of light is that the game will be streamed into our living rooms. Not nearly the same as the real-life action but a lot better than nothing. Our club has done its best to allocate tickets as evenly and fairly as possible. We know that you, our loyal supporters, are disappointed at the lack of tickets but we will just have to accept things as they are and concentrate on the game.
Sincere sympathy to the Maguire family circle (Irvinestown) and the Mulryan family circle. The Mulryans have strong connections with the GAA both in our Parish and with Omagh St Enda’s. Claude Maguire was a strong footballer with Ederney and supported them all his life, He was also a generous sponsor of our club’s fundraising activities every year.
