A hugely enjoyable night was had by all who attended Dún Uladh this evening to witness our very own Donal Magee collect his “GRADAIM AS SEIRBHÍS FHADA” (long-service award) in recognition of contribution to Scór over many years. Donal was presented with his award by Chairman of the National Scór Committee, Tomas Murray.
Also, in attendance were Croke Park National Culture and Language Officer, Jamie Ó Tuama, Tyrone GAA Chairman, Michael Kerr, Coiste Scór Uladh representatives Paula Magee, Ailis McEntee and Cliodhna Kerr along with other Tyrone GAA culture and language committee members. Fear a’Tí for the night was Donal’s successor as Tyrone GAA Culture and Language Officer, Steven Hughes.
A number of great speeches from the guests displayed genuine respect and admiration for Donal’s work in this area, starting with our own Chairman, Liam Cunningham. Guests were treated to a magnificent performance from our dancers, a beautifully sung Amhrán na bhFiann by Molly Chism and a wonderful rendition of The Isle of Innisfree by Hannah McGirr. A number of our Killyclogher Scór participants over the years recorded messages of thanks to Donal.
This was an immensely proud night for our club to have Donal represented with such an award at National level. More importantly, it was a night of great pride for the entire Magee clann who were in attendance.
To Donal – Maith thú agus comhghairdeas.
