Massive congratulations to our new All Ireland Champions – Eugene, Eoin, Gary, Stephen and the Tyrone Masters, who have just beaten Dublin in the decider in Longford.
In 2008, the Tyrone senior footballers famously used longer hair and beards as a psychological ploy on their road to All Ireland success. Today’s team reversed this ploy, sprouting a more bald look – a tactic rumoured to have come from our own Eoin Bradley.
In fairness to Eoin, he sacrificed his usual high-scoring game today covering every blade of grass in a man of the match performance in a play-making role. He won several important frees for Tyrone especially at the end – cynically scythed down on one occasion when he would without doubt have scored a goal.
