Club Notes: August 5th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 10, 15, 26, 27, 30 and John Kerr won £100. The jackpot stands at £5,000 for next week’s draw which will be made on Monday evening. Don’t forget that club lotto can now be played online on Klubfunder.

The senior footballers had a good win over Ardboe last Sunday away from home and the reserves got a well-earned draw. On Friday night, we travel to Dunmoyle for reserve and senior games against Errigal Ciaran at 6:30 and 8:00pm, prior to taking on An Charraig Mhór in the senior championship next Friday.

The senior ladies were narrowly defeated in the league on Monday evening away to Mná na Deirge in spite of scoring 16 points.

Meanwhile, we had a packed programme of boys and girls competitive football as well as coaching sessions with all age groups covered from U8 to U18.

The hurling and camogie taster sessions continue on Friday, from 4:00 to 5:15pm up to U12.

It is to the credit of coaches, mentors and family members that this range of games can be delivered.

Members looking to purchase club merchandise can contact Mary Meenan (07746482170) or Brenda Kerr (07717167770) to arrange orders and collection.

This Sunday at 3:00pm in Ballinamullan car park, we are hosting another Drive-In Bingo. All welcome and strict social distancing rules will apply and we would appreciate the co-operation of everyone on the day.

Sincere sympathy to the family circle of the late Eamon Burns. When the club was reformed, Eamon became involved immediately as a player and as a committee member. Eamon lined out for us as goalkeeper in the County Junior Final in 1968 and was also on the team who won the West Tyrone Junior League and McElduff Cup that year. His family members were also very supportive of the new club. When his own family came along, they also contributed greatly to the playing life and social life of the club. His sons Gary, Brian and Conor were prominent hurlers and footballers and his wife Mary and daughters Brenda and Andrea were, and continue to be, generous in their support of our club. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
