Our juvenile footballers put on a great and gritty performance in the County Final to conquer the weather conditions and run a strongly fancied An Charraig Mhór to a very close finish. Having played with the strong wind in the first half and went in at half time trailing by a point things were not looking good for the second half but a real team performance kept us in touch throughout the second half. The final score was 0-11 to 0-07. Both teams are to be congratulated for their display of what is best in Gaelic Football. Second instalment coming up when the same two teams meet in the League Final next Wednesday, 15th November.
A big thank you to all who helped with the smooth running of the County Semi Final of Scór na nÓg last Sunday. Congratulations to PJ Cunningham (recitation) on a fine performance and all the best to our céilí dancers and ballad group in the County Final.
Tiernán McCann was a well-deserving nominee for an All Star Award for his performances for Tyrone certainly merited it. Lets hope he gets his due reward next year with an All Star.
Gaelic Start in Dún Uladh and girls coaching in Ballinamullan continue as usual as does boys U13 coaching.
Our Handballers Brian Mc Aleer (singles) and Rian McCaul and Tiarnan McAleer (doubles) literally travelled the length of the country last weekend to play in the All Ireland Colleges Championships. They missed out on titles but they had the honour of winning through and playing in the All Ireland Finals. A great achievement.
