Club Notes: October 14th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 10, 13, 16, 22, 24 and Aidan Meenan and Susan Bradley each won £50. The main jackpot stays at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday night.
Although falling short in the effort to win the O’Neill Cup, they did succeed in creating a great buzz of excitement and a sense of pride throughout the entire Parish. A big thank you to our “other teams” who made it a memorable couple of weeks – the team that put up the bunting and flags, the team which sold the Club colours, the team that collected the sponsorship for the match programme and of course a thank you to those who so generously responded, the team that organised, prepared, cooked and served our Final Day Big Breakfast and those who attended. More than 500 breakfasts were served in two hours by capable and enthusiastic volunteers and John Wallace’s generosity made it even more successful. We also thank those who made other gestures to the team in the build up to the Final.
Identifying with, wearing the colours, working together, pride in our place, teamwork; that’s what brought our Parish to life and took us so close to winning a County Title. Unfortunately, there was no Cup at the end of it but the feel-good factor will continue and the quality of the player’s skills and the high level of their commitment and effort will get their reward. It’s back to League action this Sunday when we travel to Errigal Ciaran. As they are playing in an important Ladies Ulster Club game, the time has still to be confirmed.
There will be a Club Meeting tomorrow night, Thursday, at 8:30pm.
Our Minor Hurlers were in action last night, Tuesday, against An Charraig Mhór in the Championship Semi Final.
The next big event for boys and girls U16 in Scór na nÓg on Friday 23rd October in Carrickmore.
Our U16 girls will play Castlederg in the Championship Semi Final this Sunday at 12:00 noon in Ballinamullan.
Our U13 boys face Both Domhnaigh on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
Sincere sympathy to the family circle of the late Paul Mills.
