Club Notes: August 6th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 10, 12, 15, 19, 28 and Kevin Dooher won £100. The main jackpot remains at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday night.
Our Senior Footballers retained their place at the top of Division 1 with two draws in their last two games. There will be a break from League Football to play the Championship and when we return to League action we will have five games left with a place in the top four at stake.
Next game for our Minor Hurlers is away to Strabane on Friday night at 7:45pm.
Our Ladies Footballers lost out to Errigal Ciaran in the Championship last night, Tuesday, but will now concentrate on the Senior B Championship and the League.
Our U16 Boys Footballers play Newtownstewart tonight, Wednesday, and play Omagh on Saturday.
Sincere sympathy to the family of the late Colm McGurk, Kilkeel, and especially Brian who does so much for Hurling in our Club.
We lost a very valuable member of our Parish with the death of Mickey Maynes. With his vivid recollection of events throughout his long life and clear memories of stories from his parents he could give a personal touch of events of the past 150 years and fill in all the details.
We were stunned to learn of the death of Brian Burns. Brian, along with his brothers Gary and Connor, was central to a golden era for Hurling in our Club in the 1990s. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family circle at this difficult time. They are all so supportive of our Club activities both on and off the field.
We sympathise with the family of John Gray who also passed away in a very sad week for the Club.
