Club Notes: November 13th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 5, 7, 12, 15, 18 and Dominic Bennett won £100. The main jackpot remains at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday night.

A big thank you to all who helped make last Friday’s Night at the Races such a financial and social success. We are grateful to those who generously sponsored races or bought horses and to those who attended on the night. Well done to the organisers and especially to Enda McCrory and also to Terry McCann who kept the programme going smoothly in his usual good humoured and efficient way. Thanks also to the management and staff of the Village Inn.

We had a great year in Ladies Football so it was appropriate that Ladies should be involved in the last competitive game of 2013. Our Juveniles bowed out of the Championship last Sunday to a very strong Clonoe team in the Semi Final. Don’t forget also, to vote for Clodagh Poyntz and Naomi McAnulla for the Tyrone Intermediate Player of the Year.

All the best to Barney McAleer, Brian McCrory, Brendan Gallagher and Declan McCrory in the upcoming Tyrone Handball Leagues commencing on Saturday.

We wish all our representatives in Scór na nÓg all the best in the County Semi Final in Eglish on Sunday night.

We hosted two Reserve Finals last Saturday and we are grateful to those who worked on the day. We against ask for workers this Sunday for the staging of the Edendork v Strabane game for a 2pm throw-in.

The County Board are organising U16 7-a-side Hurling blitzes commencing tomorrow night, Thursday 14th, assembling at the Parish Centre for 6:50pm. Our own indoor Hurling for U8, U10 and U12s will commence in the New Year.

The Club AGM is scheduled for Sunday 15th December at 2:00pm.

With all competitions for 2013 ended, we thank our many sponsors and pitch advertisers and look forward to their continuing support in 2014 and would welcome new contributors.

Sincere sympathy to the family circle of the late John Coll, and especially to the McKnight family. We also express sympathy to the O’Connor family circle on the death of Terry. They have always strongly supported the GAA in our Parish.
