Cappagh recovered from a bad start that saw them fall five points behind before they managed to get their first score. Ryan Sheehan bagged a goal and a point but Cappagh were thankful for the brilliance of goalkeeper Rian Mc Caul whose superb save kept them in the game. Cappagh introduced John Mc Gurk and the sub helped turn the game in their favour with a goal. Caolan Kelly bagged another major while points from Odhran Potter, Jordan Barton and PT Cunningham saw the half time score read Moortown 0-6, Cappagh 3-05. Moortown bossed the second half in terms of possession and scoring chances but another John Mc Gurk goal proved crucial for Cappagh as their defence was made to work overtime as they fought to deny the Moortown forwards time and space. Matthew Murnaghan, Gavin Donaghy, Conor Teague, Ronan Mc Grath, Rory Cunningham and Jacob Corry excelled in a fine all round team performance that finished Cappagh 4-06, Moortown 2-10.
