Club Notes: June 5th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 4, 19, 22, 24, 27 and twenty four winners each received £5. The main jackpot remains at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday night. Following last week’s Big Bingo we are back to our usual weekly Bingo on Monday.

Last weekend was a good one for the Club on the playing fields. On Saturday Morning our youngest Members took part in very enjoyable Hurling Blitzes.

It was the Ladies turn on Saturday evening and they put on a great performance to gain victory over Sperrin Óg after extra time in the Intermediate Championship. Well done to the Players and the Management team.

Our Reserve Footballers got Sunday’s games under way in fine style with a well deserved win over Derrylaughan. The Seniors then weighed in with two vital League points.

Clonoe come to Ballinamullan tomorrow night, Friday 7th June, with the Reserve game at 6:45pm and the Seniors at 8:15pm.

The Senior Hurling League is scheduled to begin this weekend  with a match against Dungannon.

Well done to Cappagh Handballers Brian McAleer, Sean Teague, Joe McGurk, Tiernán McAleer, Rian McCaul and Conor McNelis who took part in lasts weekend’s first ever Ulster One Wall Championships in St Ciaran’s College Ballygawley.

We appeal for good support for the Tattyreagh 5 Mile and 5K Run on Saturday 8th June at 11:00am.

Sincere sympathy to the family cirlce of the late Mrs Bridie Love. They are involved in Football, Hurling and Scór in our Club.

Ladies Football

Well done to our Seniors who defeated Sperrin Óg after extra time in the Championship last weekend.

Congratulations to Tyrone U14s on winning the Ulster B Final. They play Westmeath on Saturday in the All Ireland Semi Final in Cavan. Best wishes to Cappagh Girls Caitlin, Jessica and Amy.

Our U14 Girls are away to the Rock in the League on Tuesday 11th June at 7:00pm.

Youth Foot ball

U8 and U10 training continues from 6:15 to 7:30pm on Tuesday evenings. It’s the U10s turn this week with a Blitz in Strabane on Saturday. Players should assemble at the Parish Centre for 9:30am.

U12 training continues on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30pm. The U12s first game was on last night, Tuesday against Drumragh. They play Omagh away on next Tuesday 11th with a 7:00pm throw-in.

The U14A team have a League semi-final match away to Moortown on Saturday with a 1:30pm throw-in. Support from parents, friends and members would be very welcome.

U-15 Óg Sport to take place on Monday 10th June. The venue is Loughmacrory with a 6:45pm throw-in. We have been drawn in Grade 1 Section C Group 2 with Omagh and Newtownstewart.

U16 and Minor training schedule from coaches

Our annual Donnelly Cup primary schools competition is scheduled to take place this Wednesday morning, 12th June, at Ballinamullan. With fourteen teams this year from seven Parish Primary Schools it will certainly be a busy morning. Anyone available to help out in any way please let us know. Lets hope the weather is a little kinder this year.

Youth Hurling

Many thanks to the parents who helped at the U8, U10 and U12 County Hurling Blitz last Saturday in Garvaghey.

U8 and U10 Hurling continues on Tuesdays and U12s after Football training on Thursdays or Fridays.

The U14 Hurling season has now ended and we hope these Players now make themselves available for the U16 Hurling training which will start shortly.

Minor Hurling training is proposed to start Saturday 15th June with the first game scheduled for Monday 17th June at home to Lisbellaw. More details next week.
