Club Notes: September 12th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 6, 10, 14, 15, 24 and twenty winners each received £5. The main jackpot stays at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday.
We travelled to Derrylaughan last Saturday for Senior and Reserve league games. Our Reserves played well throughout and finished up comfortable winners. In the Senior game we had a mediocre first half performance but still led at half time. We showed much better teamwork in the second half and seemed to be on course to win by two points but a last minute penalty goal turned it into a one point win for Derrylaughan.
On Saturday we go back to Derrylaughan for a game in the Reserve Knock Out at 2:00pm and on Sunday both Reserves and Seniors travel to Coalisland for games at 2:15pm and 3:45pm. The following weekend we face Dromore in the Championship Semi Final.
On Saturday last Barry McCaul, Brian McGinn, Joe Quinn and Christopher Gorman took our Senior players of the future to a very enjoyable U-12 Tournament organised by the famous Longford Slashers Club. Well done to the coaches and players.
Sincere sympathy to the family of the Late Seamus Barnett, Irvinestown, and especially to his Uncle Anthony Connolly.
There will be a Club Meeting tomorrow night, Thursday, at 8:00pm.

Congratulations to our U-12s who travelled to Longford Slashers and competed in their annual tournament. There were 30 teams from 13 counties and 3 provinces. Our boys were split into two teams competing in both Division 1 and 2. We made the quarter final stage of the cup in Division 2 and reached the final of the Shield in Division 1 only to loose out by one kick of the ball at the end. A highly entertaining day was had by all with some brilliant team performances from a group of exemplary children. Well done to all involved.

Our U-16 hurlers completed their year with a 3 point defeat to N. Colmcille last Tuesday in a great game. This team played progressively in all games and the objective of improvement all year was achieved.
Minor hurling training continues on Thursday evening in preparation for the league which starts shortly.
The Tyrone Hurling Development meeting is on this Wednesday evening at 7:30pm and is being hosted by ourselves and all free to attend.
