Club Notes: August 22nd

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 5, 8, 11, 22, 26 and Paula Daly won £100. The main jackpot  remains at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday night.
We play Kildress in the Reserve Knock Out tomorrow evening, Friday, at 7:00pm in Kildress. The draw for the Quarter Final of the Senior Championship produced a meeting with Derrylaughan for us.
A big thank you to all who supported us with generous sponsorship for last week’s Golf Classic and to all who played. It was a great day for our Club, both financially and socially. The Council and Members of Omagh Golf Club made us very welcome and helped in every way they could.
Roisin and Martin Corcoran hosted a very successful  Come Dine With Cappagh last Saturday night. Anyone else interested in hosting a night should contact Sean O’Kane on 07737495404.
On Friday night, 24th August, our Ladies are holding a Presentation Night together with a Night At The Races in the Village Inn. We appeal to you for your support and attendance.
The Ulster Bank Roadshow will be staged in Ballinamullan next Thursday night, 30th August, from 7:00 to 9:00pm. There will be skill tests for young players and free goodie bags and among the guest celebrities for the Talk Show will be Pat Spillane. If you would like to attend please let Barry McCaul (07960719849) or Niall McKenna (07881950055) know by tonight, Thursday 23rd August, to facilitate seating and teas.
Our Senior Hurlers bowed out of the Championship last Saturday but performed well enough, especially in the first half, to show that there is definitely potential for greater things. The progress at underage level also supports this view.
Ladies Football
Senior Training will continue as usual in preparation for the final league game.
U-16 training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Ballinamullan from 7:00pm.
Training for U-12s and U-14s takes place every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:00pm.
Cappagh Ladies Presentation evening and Night at the Races will take place this Friday 24th August at 9:00pm in The Village Inn. Everyone is welcome to come along to the end of season celebrations.
Youth Football
There is an U-8 Blitz this Saturday 25th August. Venue to be confirmed. Please assemble at the Parish Centre for 9:45am.
U-8 and U-10 training continues on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30pm.
There is an U-12 game at home to Dungannon on Wednesday 22nd August. Players should meet at club rooms for 6:30pm. Training continues Friday 24th August 6:30 to 7:30pm.
U-13 training begins Tuesday and Thursday this week from 7:00 to 8:15pm. All those born 1999 and 2000 are eligible to play.
The Ulster Bank GAA Force Roadshow is coming to Killyclogher / Cappagh clubrooms next Thursday evening with special guests Sam Maguire and Pat Spillane along with other well known GAA pundits and players. It promises to be a great evening’s entertainment for all. As part of the Roadshow a Kidszone will be in operation. This is designed for children over 12 years old and includes an outdoor kicking tunnel for measuring the ball speed when kicked and a Batak board for measuring reflexes. All registered children over 12 years old are invited to attend. Further details next week.
Hurling
Our Senior Hurlers bowed out of the Championship on Saturday with a spirited display from a team of dedicated hurlers. Well done to all.
It is proposed to have the Senior Club AGM in early September to set out a vision for next year.
The Minor hurling league starts on Thursday 30th August with an away game in Carrickmore with a 7:30pm start.
The U-16 hurlers have one league game remaining with Dungannon. The date is still to be confirmed.
U-8/10 hurling coaching will resume of Tuesday 28th August after the football coaching from 7:30 to 8:00pm and anyone who can help out is invited to come along.
