CLUB NOTES: August 3rd

Well done to Dermot Carlin, Martin Swift and Tyrone on last Saturday’s game with Roscommon. Tickets will be allocated on Thursday night between 8.00-9.00pm to members who have applied.
It is back to club league action on Friday night, with the visit of Donaghmore to Ballinamullan for Senior and Reserve games. A good turn out of supporters will be appreciated. The Reserve game is timed for 6.45pm with the Senior beginning at 8.00pm.
We were pleased to welcome Omagh Wheelers and friends to Ballinamullan last Friday on stage one of their race of three stages. The sprint finish was spectacular. They were very helpful to us when we were planning and preparing for the cycle from Páirc an Chrocaigh. We look forward to continuing cooperation.
Sincere sympathy to the Mimnagh family circle on their recent bereavement.

Thanks to Frances Gillespie for this latest set of amazing photos, programmes & clippings, they are a real window to the past of our club, these images show what the club has been founded upon…  Click her to View Images
The ongoing search continues… the Club SOCIAL HISTORY PROJECT  where we will be trying co collect, record and catalog any old photographs, books, newspaper/magazine articles or video footage from Killyclogher St Marys / Cappagh GAA. And we are asking YOU our members and friends to HELP. The value of a photograph is often never realized until years later and we would like to centralize as much content as we can and safeguard it for future generations. We hope to create an online ‘Cappagh Museum’ and we want to fill it. Always remember everything and anything has great value, whether it’s a sports day from 1982 to candid pics and celebrations from 2003 or dinner dances down through the years we would like it all! Please get in contact with us if you can help, all photos, images, videos will be returned once scanned or recorded!
If you have any images, or think you can help with the project contact: pro.killyclogher.tyrone@gaa.ie
Next to be added is a series of press clippings from Mary Meenan’s Roofspace…

Cappagh
Our depleted Minor team fought hard in Sunday’s league quarter final and mid way through the second half looked to be heading for victory. A good all round N Mhuire team pulled back the lead and stormed ahead to claim a place in the semi final. Our Minors are encouraged to join the Senior and Reserves for training and become part of the panel. They worked well all year and both players and management deserve praise for their efforts.
The Juveniles played Loughmacrory last night and Omagh last Friday. They started brightly against Omagh but fell away in the second half. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Adam Potts.
Our Under 12 footballers had double games on Monday night and will take on Omagh and Augher next Monday and will also be in action on Wednesday night.
A big thank you to all who contributed to the success of the Hurling Camp. It is hoped that these young players with the continuing support of their families will be involved with the club in the years ahead. Hurling players and coached should note that there will be a programme of coaching and games in August and September involving Under 8, 10, 12, 13, 16 and 18 players.
Cappagh Ladies
The Senior Ladies have now finished their season and despite not winning anything they can be very happy with making both the Championship and League Finals, while also remaining top of the Divison Two League for the entire season, a huge thank-you to all the girls who’s commitment was 100% all year and also to those who came out to support them.
The Seniors will be taking part in the All-Ireland 7s competition in Dublin on 24th September, good luck to all those taking part in that.
The U16 season is now up and running with the girls taking on Errigal on Saturday 6th August in Ballinamullan at 11am and then on Monday 8th they play Carrickmore at 8pm also at home, Good luck to all involved there and as much support as possible would be appreciated. Training for U16s will continue  Wednesdays from 7-8pm. Hard Luck to Tyrone U16s who were defeated on Saturday past.
Cappagh Gaels
There will be Minor & Senior training from 7-9pm on Thursday night, all players are asked to attend.
