Registration Day last Sunday was a great success and we thank those who attended, youths and adults, and those who worked hard to make it all run smoothly. Final date for registering as a club member is 31st March.
We wish Anthony Connolly a speedy and comfortable recuperation. We trust that he will soon be successfully trying out the hip replacement on the dance floor.
We would like to offer a special word of thanks to the Members & Committee of Drumragh Sarsfields for allowing us to borrow their Heart Defibrillator for our recent ‘Croker to Cappagh Cycle Challenge’, this kind gesture ensured the safety, well being and piece of mind for all those who took part.
Our Céilí Dancers and Ballad Group are getting ready for the All Ireland Scór final on Saturday 9th April in Killarney. The Scór are holding a guest supper on Saturday, 2nd April 2011 at 8.30pm in Dun Uladh. The cost is £10.00 per person, which includes supper and entertainment from this year’s scor sinsear acts. This will be the last chance to see our ballad group & ceili dancers before they head to Killarney to represent our club, county and province in the All Ireland final on Saturday, 9th April 2011 so come along and enjoy what promises to be a fun-filled night for everyone. Booking is essential as numbers are limited and seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please contact either Anne (077 7614 6948) or Paula (077 1837 5652) by Thursday, 31st March to secure your seat!!! All the best to them and we also say comhghairdeas to Donal Magee and the Coiste Cultúir on being awarded the Patsy Nugent Cup because Tír Eoghain was the most successful county in Scór in Ulster this year.
Gaelic Start as usual on Saturday for the 5 and 6 year olds in the Parish Centre. Coaching for the Under 10s in Ballinamullan from 10.00am on Saturday. The Under 14 game with Eglish in Division 1 did not go ahead last Saturday. This Saturday the opposition will be provided by Errigal Ciaran. Our ‘B’ team put on a great performance in the first half but fell away in the second half as Drumquin took control of proceedings. This Saturday we travel to Uruly. The numbers at coaching and for games shows that the fielding of a second team is well worthwhile. The Under 14 games are at 4.00pm.
After a number of training sessions and a few friendly games it is down to competitive action for our Minor footballers on Sunday with An Charraig Mhór to Ballinamullan for a league game at 2.00pm. Our boys would appreciate good support. Youth managers and youth players in all age groups are reminded that club membership must be paid by 31st March.
