Cappagh U15 boys showed great spirit tonight (Monday 25th May) to win their section of the Og Sport, a seven a-side competition of fast moving, thrilling football.
The boys first won their grouping by defeating Loughmacrory and Galbally. There was some fantastic football played in both games, but neither game was won easily, in fact it took a point-blank save near the end of the Galbally game to allow Cappagh to progress.
The reward for winning the group was a meeting with Pomeroy, who had earlier been sucessful in seeing off the threat from Carrickmore and Beragh.
The final game was a great game of football, one which Pomeroy controlled early on, leaving three points in it at half-time. The second half was a different story, Cappagh really started to take control taking some fantastic scores. However, Pomeroy were always dangerous on the break, and it took some eager defending from the Cappagh boys to stop the Pomeroy boys from scoring. The final score was Cappagh 1-10, Pomeroy 0-10.
Many thanks to the Beragh club for a well run event.
