Cappagh Ladies first established within Cappagh Parish in 2002 competing for the first time in 2003 and continues to be well established within Killyclogher GAA.
We experience an increase in numbers each year since first setting out and hope to continue this trend in the foreseeable future. We now have teams registered at every level and continue to compete among the higher grades of ladies football.
The talent of our players was first recognized with players being selected for county representation in 2005 and this trend continues each year with girls selected to represent the county at various ages. 2009 was a very successful year for our senior panel in doing the double (league and championship) and continuing to reach the Ulster final where we were eventually defeated by the Monaghan side, Corduff ladies. We reached another championship final against Dromore in 2010, however, narrowly missed out in reaching a victory. The same year Cappagh Ladies had gone unbeaten in the league and reached the league semi-finals were again we lost to the impressive Dromore side. These are huge achievements that we are extremely proud of in achieving three championship finals in three successive years. It depicts the desire of the girls to grow from experience and their strength to maintain high standards of football.
We hope that we can maintain the same standard in the foreseeable future.
