The vast and impressive display of heartfelt sympathy and support at the wake and funeral of Tommy Nugent shows just how strong our Association is and central it is to the life of the community. Our games and competitions and the cups and trophies are important but at the heart of the Association are people – our people – members and supporters, young and not so young, enjoying the good times and helping each other through times of sorrow and set-backs. All sections of our club came together in a strong show of solidarity to greatly assist with Tommy’s wake and funeral. Tommy would have been proud of them. A big thank you to the clubs of Tyrone and clubs from neighbouring counties for their support. Their support took so many forms and all of it was so generously given. As the workers were often heard to say, you couldn’t do enough for Tommy. Think of all the good he did for so many. Go ndéanaí Dia trócaire air.
The minor boys take on Eglish in the County Championship Final on Saturday at 3:00pm in Loughmacrory.
The senior men will play Coalisland in the Senior Football Championship on Sunday at 4:45pm in Carrickmore. Good luck to both of our teams. On Sunday last, we had a draw with Omagh in the Division 1 League, with our equalising goal coming at the very end.
The U16 girls are away to Moortown tomorrow night, Thursday, and at home to Dromore on Sunday in the League.
The juvenile boys have a Championship match with Eglish to play. Details to be confirmed.
On Sunday last, we had a great team of workers involved in hosting two Intermediate Championship matches. A big thank you to all who played a part and we especially welcome back Ciaran McFadden, Angela Bradley and Mary McAleer to our team of workers.
