Club Notes: September 26th

Winning numbers in the Lottsodoo were 8, 12, 13, 24, 26 and Noel Carlin won £100. The jackpot remains at £5,000 for next week’s draw which takes place as usual at the Bingo in the Parish Centre on Monday night.
There is a selection of hoodies and half zips for children and adults in the shop tomorrow night, Thursday, between 7:00 and 8:00pm. Wrap up and be prepared for the changing weather for our senior football championship game on Sunday as well as supporting our team.
The championship campaign began for our senior footballers last Sunday when we defeated Derrylaughan. It was a game we didn’t look like losing but was always on a knife-edge because we didn’t go very much ahead on the scoreboard. In the end it was the enthusiasm of our young players and the steel of our more experienced men that delivered the victory. The experienced men were a revelation and our supporters showed their appreciation with strong vocal support for the team. On Sunday we play Omagh St Enda’s in Loughmacrory at 1:00pm. Good support will be very important.
Our juvenile boys and girls had mixed fortunes with the boys falling heavily in the championship while the girls continued merrily on their winning ways with five wins from five games. They are due to be away to the Moy tomorrow night, Thursday.
Our U8 and U10 boys enjoyed tournament competitions in Glenullin last Saturday and Sunday. The U12 boys were in the Moy and the U10 girls took part in the Mairead Stewart Memorial tournament in Strabane. Thanks to the host clubs and to our own coaches and parents.
There will be a meeting in the clubrooms tonight, Wednesday, at 9:00pm for all those interested in the promotion of hurling in the club.
A big thank you to our team of young and not so young boys and men, girls and ladies who hosted the junior football championship semi-finals last Saturday. They worked effectively and efficiently as a team all afternoon. Accessing and exiting the carpark went very smoothly and quickly thanks to our stewards and the co-operation of the drivers. The players, the most important people on the day, had good changing facilities and a near perfect surface to play. The pre-match preparation produced good results. We also had time to provide some hospitality. We had a great team in the shop and selling draw tickets. A big thank you to all who helped make it a successful day.
