Club Notes: May 9th

Following the break for the bank holiday weekend, its back to eyes down as usual with the return of Monday night Bingo at 9:00pm. The draws for 7th and 14th May Lottsodoo will take place at the Bingo. The jackpot stands at £5,000.
Our men and boys had a busy weekend with, in football, the senior league in Trillick on Friday night, the minor league on Saturday and the U14 league on Sunday.
We had mixed fortunes losing to Trillick at senior level, beating Dromore in the minor league and narrowly losing out to An Charraig Mhór in the U14 league on the remarkable score-line of 6-12 to 6-10.
At minor level the lead changed hands a few times but at the final whistle we were winners over Dromore.
In the senior game we never really played the football we are capable of and Trillick were clear winners in spite of a rally we had at the start of the second half. Our reserves play Trillick tomorrow night, Thursday, in Trillick. This Sunday the senior footballers travel to Clonoe for a reserve game at 2:15 and the senior game at 3:45pm.
The minor boys play An Charraig Mhór this Tuesday in Carrickmore.
The U14 boys have football games against Brackaville tomorrow night, Thursday, Urney on Saturday and Omagh on Monday.
Our senior hurlers were also busy over the weekend playing in the Ulster league on Saturday and in the Tyrone league cup on Monday. We failed to repeat the quality and effort of the previous Monday’s game and lost both games.
The ladies were also very busy at the weekend adding to our packed programme of fixtures. The senior ladies were short a few regulars on Friday and lost to Cookstown and play Omagh this Sunday at 6:30pm. We trust that the injuries from last weekend will have cleared up. At the other end of the age-scale we hosted an U8 and U10 blitz. A big thank you to all who helped to run it so smoothly.
Members requesting to be considered for an allocation of Ulster Championship tickets for Tyrone v Monaghan should let Donal Magee know by 7:00pm on Friday indicating the category, i.e. adult, senior citizen, student or juvenile.
Saturday 26th May is the date for the big day, our 10K and 5K run/walk, which has become a feature on the local running scene and last minute preparations are now underway for those taking part in this popular event.
