Last weekend was a busy and enjoyable one. It was teamwork all the way with registration on Friday evening for the 10K/5K Run, a team of busy workers worked late to get everything ready for Saturday morning while on the playing fields we had a range of teams from various age-groups preparing and playing.
On Saturday morning an even bigger team of workers ensured the smooth running of the event with the water stations en route and food and refreshments when they were finished. Well done to those who prepared so meticulously and ran it off so efficiently.
We had a good turnout of players for the reserve league game with Greencastle on Sunday. A sluggish first half performance left us chasing the game but a lively second half almost brought us victory. The seniors put on a solid performance to win the points.
A feature of Sunday’s games was the exhibition games featuring the U8s with thanks to the coaches, parents and family members. We also had a good team looking after the kitchen, shop and lotto.
The minor girls were defeated in the championship by Errigal Ciaran on Monday night and the minor boys played Errigal last night, Tuesday.
Well done to the U14 hurlers who took part in the Tyrone Féile on Saturday and the league on Monday.
The U14 girls are at home to Trillick tomorrow night, Thursday.
The senior ladies are away to Drumragh on Sunday evening at 6:30pm.
Our senior men have away games to Donaghmore on Sunday, 2:15 and 3:45pm.
Sincere sympathy to the family circle of the late Mrs Teresa Collins.
