Well done to Tiernan, Mark, Conall and Sean on winning the Ulster Championship with Tyrone on Sunday. A grandstand final ten minutes swept them to victory over Dún na nGall.
Well done also to Anthony Connolly, Tony McKenna and Jim McAleer who were honoured in Clones as being members of the successful and history-making Tyrone squad of 1956/57.
It’s back to club action this Sunday when we travel to Augher for senior and reserve league games.
Our juvenile boys’ footballers began their league campaign on Monday evening when we played host to An Charraig Mhór. They were in danger of being overwhelmed in the first half as Carrickmore piled on the scores but they staged a strong fight-back in the second half to finish on a score of 1-13 to 4-10. They can feel proud of their performance in the second half. Omagh provide the opposition this weekend. Day and time to be confirmed.
The senior ladies played Killeeshil on Monday night and face Errigal Ciaran in their final league match.
Congratulations to Joe McGurk, Aaron Montgomery, Ryan Haughey, Dylan McPhillips and the Tyrone juvenile hurlers for their success against Donegal last week.
Our next major event is the golf classic. This popular and well-established event combines a social dimension with fundraising. We will hold this year’s event on Friday 19th August thanks to the willing co-operation of Omagh Golf Club. You can support the golf classic by entering a team of four or by sponsoring a tee. Please contact Sean O’Kane (07737495404) or Enda McCrory (07786652934) for more details.
